Global Consciousness Project

Host Sites

The recording sites for the Global Consciousness Project are referred to as "eggs" and comprise a hardware REG or RNG attached to a computer running custom software. They are shown in the Google map above. This display of the egghost sites has been updated (Apr 2012) to current standards by Oliver McDermott. It was originally developed by Fernando Lucas Rodriguez to replace a simple listing. The display shows all eggs that have contributed data, including some that are no longer active.

Ideally the GCP network should cover the globe homogeneously but the actual distribution depends on Internet infrastructure and on having colleagues around the world willing to host a site. The data are collected and stored locally on the egg-host computer. During times when the internet connection is up, the data are transmitted automatically to a central server (teilhard.global-mind.org) where they are archived. The central server also is host to the GCP website and a variety of analysis programs, as well as a web-based data access form.

Egg Host Information

The following table shows all eggs in the order they came online, their unique ID number, the internet connection as ETH (continuous) or D & D (dial and drop), the type of REG device, the egg hosts, the egg's location, latitude and longitude, and its installation date. Contact information is given for some of the hosts in the NetStatus table.
